Kirsten Dunst's handbag thief convicted

The man accused of stealing Hollywood actress Kirsten Dunst's 1,330 pounds designer purse from a New York City hotel room has been convicted of burglary.

James Jimenez was accused of raiding the 'Spiderman' star's suite at the SoHo Grand Hotel in Manhattan in 2007, while the actress was filming 'How to Lose Friends and Alienate People' with Simon Pegg and Megan Fox nearby.

Jimenez was found guilty of burglary and trespassing at a Manhattan Supreme Court hearing on Friday. The judgement ends a case that brought Dunst to the witness stand twice to testify, reported Daily Express.

Pegg was also asked to testify before the jury members during the trial.

Jimenez was convicted of trespassing last year, but jury members were left deadlocked on a more serious burglary charge. The verdict ended a retrial.
