Anil in dilemma!

Destiny is cruel. And if Bollywood’s recent export to Hollywood, Anil Kapoor, could have it his way, he would have fought it with all his might. However fate works in funny ways.

The rights of Anil’s television series 24 (where he plays Omar Hassan) have been picked up by an Indian channel and it will go on air from August 9. The channel reportedly has plans to hold a grand premiere and launch the event where Anil will naturally be the centre of attraction.

Sources say the actor is thrilled. However, there is a hitch. On August 6, his home production Aisha will release. And Anil’s original plans include a gala premiere for the same. The film has his daughter Sonam in the lead with Abhay Deol and it also marks the debut of his second daughter Rhea Kapoor as producer. Now the dilemma is that Anil can have just one premiere in a gap of three days because the same set of Bollywood biggies are likely to be invited to both events. And even Anil knows, that they will pass one for the other!

“This may mean he has to give up his own premiere (which the channel is unlikely to pass) or he has to sacrifice the Aisha shindig — which is his own decision but it is important for his two daughters. It is indicated that Anil is now a worried man. As a father, he wants the red carpet for his daughters; and as a star, he wants to face the flash bulbs himself. Currently Anil is sitting with his closest advisers asking them how he can possibly hold both the events. And if he should sacrifice one for the other.
